Many of you have followed Ale Bonilla for decades from mowing yards in Fort Worth to styling hair all over North America. A true artist mind never rests & we wouldn’t expect anything less from the Ninja either. Every few years, Ale’s hunger to do more with art grows into an obsession to inspire the world. As a kid, he got his first matching 35mm film camera set to play with his older sister, Marisol. Later, a Pentax K1000, fully manual camera tickled his fancy during college. Since then, Rap Photo Company became an inspiration to Ale for over a decade as his go to for award winning photo shoots. Now in the digital age, his workhorse is the Canon 7D for photography. Click for recent photo work.

Ale doesn’t just capture souls through the lens of still imagery, but also through moving photography. His fascination with film as a kid sparked him to work at AMC for 3 years where he became the projectionist supervisor. During this time, he worked with 35mm to 70mm non-acetate, safety film learning aspect ratios, sound bars, splicing, trailers, & much more. As the lead projectionist, National producers & directors used Ale in the Sundance film festival for delicate build up & tear down on one-off films. Over the last 3 years, International Director & Film producer Joshua Dixon (Wind Up Films) took Ale under his wing into the cinema world. Today, his weapon of choice for the film world is his Black Magic Pocket Cinema Camera. Click for recent film work.

Twenty-three years after his first haircut, opening five salons, & personally training over 500 stylists in the art of hairdressing, Ale is still participating in continuing education with the world’s elite hairdressers. Regardless of the medium, the gift of confidence & beauty to his happy clients still warms him more than a good whiskey. Click for out Ale Bonilla’s full bio.
